What to bring to the hospital

Patients are encouraged to bring enough clothing to last for several days, but are cautioned not to bring too much.

___ Comfortable, casual clothing. Socially appropriate clothing is to be worn at all times (keep current weather conditions in mind) (3 changes of clothes, 2 pairs of shoes, 1 coat)
___ Sweatshirt and/or jacket
___  Toothbrush
___  Toothpaste
___  Brush or comb
___  Deodorant (non-aerosol), new and unopened
___  Pajamas (1 Pair)
___  Slippers
___  Exercise clothing
___  Sneakers
___  Small amount of cash (Adult)
___  Any medical equipment used to maintain health will be evaluated at admissions (CPP; Glucometers)
___  Limited makeup

What to leave at home

To ensure a safe and substance-free environment, you and your belongings will be searched by staff upon admission and at the discretion of the staff. These items include, but are not limited to:

  • Mirrors
  • Scissors
  • Pocket knives
  • Laptops/ipads
  • Cell phones
  • CD's/DVD's
  • Radios with cords
  • Personal hair dryers*
  • Hair straighteners
  • Curling irons
  • Personal razors*
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Regular pencils, pens, Sharpies, markers
  • Any gang-identifying clothing or jewelry (i.e., bandannas)
  • Heating pads
     

* Sheets, towels, comforters, pillows, hair dryers, and disposable razors (adult patients only) will be provided by the hospital
