Psychological Testing: What is it? When to use it? How to use?

Attendees will develop an understanding of the technology of  psychological testing and its scientific basis, how it differs from other methods of clinical assessment, and what unique advantages it offers; Attendees will become familiar with some of the more commonly used instruments and understand how they are combined to provide a psychometric basis for diagnosis and formulation of behavioral and emotional problem; Attendees will learn when psychological testing can be most helpful in differentiating, identifying, quantifying the kinds of emotional, cognitive, and psychiatric problems that frequently present to pediatricians, family practice doctors, and other physicians.  
Fee: $25, payable to Four Winds Hospital. 2 NY State Social Worker, Mental Health Counselors and CAT CEUs, 2 CASAC Section 2 criteria and CPP/CPS Section 1 criteria clock hours, 2 CME credits pending.
