Activity Planning: Discuss activities for the weekend.
Addictive Behaviors and Recovery: Provide psycho-education on addiction and other habit forming behaviors with an emphasis on the recovery process and stages of change.
Character Strengths Group: This group will focus on recognition of character strengths and how to develop these attributes.
Comfort Box: Patients will build a unique comfort box and fill it with objects that will assist them in developing and using coping skills more effectively.
Community Meeting/Goals Development: Discuss unit issues and daily goals.
Coping Skills Training: Discuss different types of coping skills.
Diary Card/ Wrap Up: Complete Diary Card and review daily Goal.
Expressive Arts: Therapy through art.
Identity Development: Explore factors contributing to sense of self.
Mindfulness: Discuss skills to stay focused and in the moment.
Multifamily: All patients and their families develop improved communication skills, supports at discharge.
Nutrition Class: The class will be conducted by an experienced Dietitian and Diabetes Educator. The dietician provides the participants the opportunity to explore such strategies as mindfulness, portion control and menu planning to optimize health and minimize weight gain and Dyslipidemia. Participants will be encouraged to utilize strategies in dining hall as able with class notes and tip-sheets for self -selection of meals included in program routinely.
Relationships and Boundaries: Evaluates how relationships impact our mental health; conflict resolution/communication skills.
Self Awareness Group: Primarily process-oriented group, often coupled with psycho-educational material and discussions to promote increased insight and judgment.
Self-Compassion Group: educate patients on the concept of self-compassion with a focus on helping patients gain an understanding of how self-criticism and judgmental thinking can negatively impact an individual’s mental and emotional well-being.
Self Expression Group: Complete exercises to develop awareness of self and how you project your identity.
