Art therapy group: Patients use art to express their feelings and experiences, explore alternate ways of self-expression, improve their ability to tolerate frustration, and improve fine motor skills run by a Creative Art Therapist.

Community meeting: Patients discuss any unit or community issues with a clinician or mental health worker.

Curfew / room time: A designated time for patients to start winding down in their rooms where conversation is minimized to allow patients the ability to transition into curfew and bedtime.

Evening routine: Time for phone calls, shower time, Consists of ADL, phone call, and story time, as well as patients selecting earned rewards based on positive behaviors displayed during the day. (Sounds very CS with story time)

Family therapy sessions: occur at various times throughout the week led by a therapist.

Goals group: Patients set daily goals to help focus on behavior change and practice learned coping skills led by a mental health worker.

Health education group: Patients discuss topics related to living a healthy life, both physically and emotionally run by nursing staff.

Nutrition group: Patients learn about healthy eating patterns and the effect poor eating can have on mood and behavior led by a Registered Dietician.

Individual therapy sessions: occur at various times throughout the week led by a therapist.

Leisure time: Patients use free time to engage in and practice leisure activities of their choosing that promote relaxation.

Medication check-in: occur at various times throughout the week in a one-to-one setting with a medication prescriber (psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner).

Check-in group: run by nursing staff to help patients review their progress towards meeting their daily goals.

Movie group: Just prior to curfew, patients select a movie to watch as a way of relaxing before bedtime run by nursing staff.

Quiet time: Designated time on the unit where activity and conversation is minimized to allow patients the ability to transition to the next program.

Recreation therapy: This group focuses on engaging in healthy physical activity, movement, and positive social cooperation with games and activities facilitated by a recreational therapist.

School: Patients either go to the Learning Center for academic instruction or receive educational tutoring on the unit during school months.

Social skills in action: Patients put their social skills to use during structured activities such as board games and leisure activities facilitated by nursing staff.

Therapeutic activity: Patients are exposed to many enriching opportunities to experience positive social interactions learn social skills, and increase self-esteem through varied activities on the unit and the campus led by a mental health worker.

Zones of regulation/coping skills group: Patients review coping skills associated with each zone of regulation led by a teacher and mental health worker.
